True to its sub-regional style, our Down the Hill Pinot Noir shows off those dark fruits of plum and mulberry with lifted spice and violet. The rustic tannins shape the mouth and compliment those rich fruit characters.
Dark cherry and clove aligned with hints of pomegranate surround and compliment the fine tannins that are captured in a range of parcels of fruit from up and down the hill.
In the glass, nectarine, white peach and citrus notes dominate. This McCutcheon Chardonnay is round and layered, plush with stone fruit, spice, and has a soft elegant finish.
Flinty upfront, this well-rounded Wallis chardonnay has ripe citrus, lemon curd, hints of almond, fresh mandarin and green mango traversing the palate.
Like a "frangipani opening up to kiss the salty air." This Judd Chardonnay is fresh and lifted with hints of green paw paw, wet stone, lemon and a mineral drive from start to finish! A wine that will continue to impress and age well.
Lovely red fruits, lifted spice, aniseed and strawberry combine with a herbal lavender lift, from start to finish on this wine. There are hints of white pepper and sage that join in with the lingering mineral and sultry tannins to end the journey.
Lifted red fruits give way to the darker, riper cherry flavours. The palate is plush, spicy and round with elegant herbal, spice and autumnal notes that roll along with the fine mineral ‘up the hill’ tannins that engulf the finish.
Delicate notes of rose petal, spice, mushroom and forest floor are a warm welcome to this wine. This is a brooding style of pinot noir with flavours of liquorice, cedar, exotic spice, dark cherry and forest fruits traversing the palate. The tannins play well with these characters offering balance, drive and a persuasive grip that is typical of the Coolart Road site.
This McCutcheon comes from the Ridge block of the vineyard sitting at nearly 200m elevation. The cool breeze coming over the ridge keeps the micro-climate within the vines cool and helps maintain the beautiful crisp and natural acidity complementing the evocative flavours of this wine.
